Mesenchymal stem cells are able to differentiate into new tissue and coordinate a repair response. Therefore, stem cell therapy is more appropriate for severe injuries or degenerative disease where there is a loss of tissue such as arthritis, torn tendon or ligament, or spinal disc disease.
